Maybach has announced that it will increase pricing for its 2008 lineup. Despite disappointing sales, the 2008 Maybach 57 will start at $341,750 — a price increases of $3,500. The new pricing puts the 2008 Machbach 57 squarely against the 2008 Rolls-Royce Phantom, which lists for $342,000.

Sales of the Maybach brand have been slow — causing 40% of dealers to close their doors — and 2006 sales totaled only 150 units. When Mercedes-Benz introduced the ultra-luxury brand six years ago, it set an annual sales goal of 600 vehicles.

It has also been rumored that Maybach will show a Landaulet convertible at this month’s Middle East International Motor Show.
